THE SHAKESPEARE SESSIONS
DIRECTOR / OREN JACOBY
Legendary founders of The Royal Shakespeare Company, John Barton and Sir Peter Hall, who revolutionized the way Shakespeare is performed in Britain, travel to America to work with actors Kevin Kline, Dustin Hoffman, Liev Schreiber, Cynthia Nixon, David Hyde Pierce, and Harriet Walter. Barton has been acclaimed as “the Shakespeare swami” by generations of great RSC actors, from Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart to Judy Dench and Janet Suzman. In a series of workshops he helps American actors unlock the text and make Shakespeare’s plays accessible to modern audiences.
