Storyville Films was founded by Oren Jacoby to develop and produce documentaries, dramas, and series driven by strong personal narratives of conscience, courage and innovation.

Sister Rose’s Passion, produced by Storyville in 2004 was a Tribeca Film Festival Award winner and was nominated for an Academy Award.

Documentary films produced by Storyville have played in theatrical release and premiered on the BBC, PBS, HBO, ABC, TBS, Discovery, VH-1, Arté, NHK and Bloomberg. Our films are currently available on DVD and steaming home video release from First Run Features, New Video/Docurama, Sony, PBS Home Entertainment, SnagFilms and on iTunes and Netflix.

Storyville and Oren Jacoby have produced films for the award-winning series American Masters, Great Performances, Stage on Screen, Turning Point, The Irish in America, The Second Russian Revolution, Idols of the Game, National Geographic Explorer, and Risk Takers.

Their partners and clients for sponsored films include:  Human Rights Watch, the NAACP, Human Rights First, Verve Records, The Philadelphia Orchestra, The New School, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Jazzmobile, and Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project.
